This is our whole concept — we feel it’s important to care for the health of your vehicle just like you would your own body.

In fact, your vehicle and your body are pretty similar:

  • Think of your brain like the Electronic Control Module (ECM) on your vehicle, controlling many of the electrical functions that keep your car running smoothly and efficiently — also alerting you of problems.
  • Motor oil, transmission fluid and brake fluid are like the blood of your vehicle, lubricating the internal components.
  • The oil filter is your car’s liver, removing impurities and keeping your oil clean.
  • Gasoline is your vehicle’s food. Using the proper octane-rated gasoline for your vehicle is essential!
  • The fuel pump is the heart of your engine, pumping gasoline to your engine so it runs correctly just like your heart pumps blood throughout your body.
  • Coolant (antifreeze) is the sweat of your engine, helping to keep your vehicle’s insides (namely, the engine block) at a livable temperature.
  • The transmission functions like your motor skills, keeping the wheels turning and engine shifting smoothly through the gears — just like your arms and legs.

Pre-Existing Conditions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered by our plans. Your vehicle must be in good working order for any HC4YC contract to be in force. We do not cover vehicle systems or components that are in need of repair before you purchase a coverage plan.

Because you can purchase our vehicle service contracts online with no verification except VIN # and mileage, it’s necessary for us to have access to highly trained and experienced inspectors — whose job it is to ensure that pre-existing conditions did not contribute to the breakdown of any vehicle.

The Claims Process

What You Should Do On That Lousy Day When Your Car Breaks Down

Remember that time that your car broke down on you just when you needed it most? Very few events in life can be more frustrating, time consuming and expensive. You feel so isolated and helpless. It is times like these when you could really use a friend to guide you through the process of getting your vehicle repaired; paid for; and back on the road. Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are, your new friend to help you through these troubling times. It is our mission to provide you with the tools and information so you can better navigate the confusing world of automotive repair and service. When you buy a service contract (extended warranty) from us, you not only get excellent coverage plans based on your personal needs and driving habits, but you also get a company that cares about you and strives to make the claims process as worry-free and seamless as possible.

Before we get started on how the claims process works, there are a couple of things you should do. First of all, please keep your contract in your car with you at all times. It contains all the information and phone numbers that you and the repair center will need to get your claim processed smoothly and promptly. Secondly, take the time to read over your contract before you need it, in order to familiarize yourself with the different aspects that might apply to your situation. Look, we know that contracts are boring to read, but if you do, it can make a big difference when the breakdown happens. Knowledge really is a powerful tool.

Automotive breakdowns are divided into two main categories, mechanical and electrical. A mechanical breakdown includes things like your engine, transmission, struts, suspension parts, etc. Electrical breakdowns might include the starter motor, alternator, wiper motor, switches, etc. Both can be time consuming and expensive to fix. One thing of primary importance that we would like to emphasize is that if your Oil Pressure Light comes on, your Temperature Gauge spikes, you see fluid leaks, you see smoke/steam in the hood area or if you experience something that just doesn’t seem right with your vehicle… STOP IMMEDIATELY AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. PLEASE DO NOT OPERATE YOUR VEHICLE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. Remember, damage resulting from the continued driving of an impaired vehicle WILL NOT be covered by your contract. Instead, call for a tow to a licensed repair facility. If you selected our Emergency Roadside Assistance package when you bought the contract, then call 1-877-272-4465 and a tow truck will be dispatched to your location. Remember, you can have your vehicle repaired at the licensed repair facility of your choice, even a car dealer.

When you get to the repair facility, describe your problem to the service representative and hand him your contract. He should then call our toll-free number (888-874-2492) located at the bottom of each page of our contract in order to start the claims process. IMPORTANT… AUTHORIZATION MUST BE OBTAINED FROM US BEFORE ANY TEAR DOWN OR REPAIRS BEGIN. This is to protect you against any repairs being done that may not be covered by your contract so that you will know any personal financial responsibility that may result. Once the call has been made and authorization has been obtained, a claim reference number will be issued and the shop can begin the repair of your vehicle. If your vehicle happens to break down outside of our normal business hours, for instance on a Sunday, and EMERGENCY REPAIRS are required, then have the necessary work performed for a reasonable and customary charge. Make sure you keep the detailed repair order and bill with the repair center’s name, address and phone number. Call us at 888-874-2492 on the morning of the next business day to report the breakdown and initiate your claim.

When you bought your contract, you made a decision on what deductible amount you wanted. This deductible will be your financial responsibility when the bill is finalized. In the name of total transparency and because we do not want you to be surprised, there could be some miscellaneous charges like shop fees, fluid disposal fees, etc., that you will be responsible for that aren’t necessarily covered by your contract. You might want to ask your service representative about the fees they charge so that you will be prepared. One other thing to bear in mind, the deductible amount you choose is ”per visit” and not “per repair”. Therefore, if you have several things to be fixed, you will only be responsible for ONE deductible. This can be a real money saver.

When the repairs to your vehicle are completed to your satisfaction, then you will be asked to sign the final invoice and pay your portion of the bill. The repair facility will then submit the invoice to us and we will pay them our portion by credit card. As you add up your savings, you drive home with a smile on your face knowing that you made a wise decision to buy a service contract from You have now “experienced the benefits”.
